This moment in Bach's Passacaglia in C minor

Thinking about this strangely moving section at the end, when Bach suddenly breaks off from learned discourse to play- in the non-musical sense of the word. I wish this idea was pursued longer- but it breaks off abruptly to make way for the fugue.
