Winnie-the-Pooh

Paired Winnie-the-Pooh with Chopin Op 9 no 1- watch to the end

...Love synchronising classical music with movie clips, and the unexpected way in which the ending synchronised, the first time I tried with this pairing, delighted me.

This is how that beautiful part of Beethoven's 5th Piano Concerto, 2nd movement, feels.

I synced the Brendel/CSO recording with a scene from the Time Traveler's Wife.

Chopin, Ballade 4, Op 52- A Possible Narrative

In no way do I like to pin down a piece to a single, specific narrative, but I'm all for exploring possible interpretations, and it's hard not to imagine scenes of terrible beauty (regardless of Chopin's intentions) when listening to a work like this. So here's a stab at writing a poem to go with Op 52. My words, and Richter's heartbreakingly raw 1962 performance.

If you're interested in the philosophy of narrative in this ballade, and music broadly, I came across, after writing this poem, Michael Klein's fascinating paper on the subject. I've linked it below, but you'll need JSTOR access.
